My work is about resistance, legacies of colonial histories, memory, popular culture, radical politics, and experiments in building a better world. I am currently in production on my debut feature documentary with the support of BBC Films, BFI Doc Society, The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture and Doha Film Institute, produced by Hakawati. I have worked on issues of spatial politics around architecture, geography and construction, from Rebel Architecture on Al Jazeera English, to collaborations with Decolonizing Architecture (DAAR), The Funambulist and Forensic Architecture. I am presently working on a translation of the key works of Brazilian architectural theorist Sérgio Ferro as part of the ‘Translating Ferro, Translating Knowledges’ project. I am drawn to archival research, first-person testimonies, analog film and literary non-fiction. Cinema, poetry, soul music and boxing are some of my favourite things.
